Dr. Susan Lim is a surgeon

Dr. Susan Lim is a surgeon that is well known in Singapore for being the first person to successfully perform a liver transplant in Asia. She attended the Singapore Chinese Girls School, then the Raffles Institution, and in 1974 she received a scholarship under the Colombo Plan that enabled her to go to medical school at Monash University in Australia.

It was in 1990 that Dr. Susan Lim performed that first successful transplant in Asia. In 2003 she founded a biotechnology company called Stem Cell Technologies, and in 2004 she became a fellow at Trinity College at the University of Melbourne.
